A Culture Of Safety

Active employee and contractor involvement is critical to achieving our safety, health, and environmental objectives. Employees and contractors throughout the Company participate in safety teams, contribute to investigations and incident learning, and suggest ongoing improvements in safety standards and procedures.

Our commitment to safety starts at the top as a core value of our company. It is driven through INEOS Films by the 12 Golden Rules - our framework of excellence in SHE:

• The 12 rules set standards in the areas of highest risk within our films sites. The rules are available in local language. Our site teams are trained and local plans for compliance are developed.
• We apply clear standards which support the 12 rules. These are short, distinct documents which cover key responsibilities and clarify expectations.
• A practical guide for each rule details how to comply with the rule and shows best practice examples. The How To guide is supported by a developing library of Films Best Practice.
• Self audits are used by each site to determine compliance with the rules. The self assessment also forms the basis of a routine management audit programme.
• An annual Director-led audit is set up to validate the self assessment and to drive the improvement plan. This process facilitates sharing and development of best practice by the involvement of auditors from other sites.
